Custom Domains

Use your own domain for branded short links that build trust and recognition.

Overview

Custom domains allow you to use your own domain (like go.yourbrand.com) instead of our default domain for your tracked links. This creates more professional, branded links that increase click-through rates and build trust with your audience.

Benefits

  • Brand Recognition - Links with your domain build trust
  • Higher CTR - Branded links typically get more clicks
  • Professional Appearance - Look more established and trustworthy
  • Memorable URLs - Easier for users to remember and share

Setup Instructions

Step 1: Choose Your Domain

We recommend using a subdomain like go.yourdomain.com or link.yourdomain.com. This keeps your main website separate from your tracking links.

Step 2: Add Domain in Track Link

  1. Go to Settings in your dashboard
  2. Find the Custom Domains section
  3. Click Add Domain
  4. Enter your domain (e.g., go.yourdomain.com)
  5. Click Add

Step 3: Configure DNS

After adding your domain, you'll need to configure a CNAME record with your DNS provider. Point your domain to our servers:

TypeNameTarget
CNAMEgocname.gettrack.link

SSL is automatic! We automatically provision and renew SSL certificates for your custom domain. No additional setup required.

Step 4: Verify Domain

After configuring DNS, return to Track Link and click Verify. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, but usually complete within a few minutes.

Using Your Custom Domain

Once verified, your custom domain will appear in the domain selector when:

  • Creating new links
  • Using the Quick Tracking builder on the dashboard
  • Copying link URLs

Simply select your domain from the dropdown and all generated URLs will use your custom domain.

SSL/HTTPS

All custom domains automatically get HTTPS enabled. We provision and manage SSL certificates for you, so your links are always secure.

Troubleshooting

Domain Not Verifying

  • Wait up to 48 hours for DNS propagation
  • Check that the CNAME record is correctly configured
  • Use a DNS checker tool to verify your record is live
  • If using Cloudflare, try temporarily disabling the proxy

Links Not Redirecting

  • Ensure the domain is verified (green checkmark in settings)
  • Clear your browser cache and try again
  • Check that SSL certificate has been provisioned (can take a few minutes)
